Activities, Engagements Heat Up In July

July is always hot at Sunstone, and this year, the Sunstone Presentation Stage was sizzling.

Teams from Sunstone Investors and Sunstone Cities both provided programs to our partners and friends that packed the room.

The Sunstone Stage Connects series ramped up to every Friday (taking the Fourth of July off), presenting startup companies from around the area with focuses on clean energy, manufacturing innovation and more. The information sessions were attended by other entrepreneurs along with potential partners.

Sunstone Cities’ new P3 Strategy Series kept the momentum it started in June with two new presentations before Sunstone Stage Connects events. On July 18 we welcomed Arnab Pal, one of the top state experts in clean energy development and public-private partnerships. The next week turned the spotlight on social partnerships with a discussion between Tracy Colunga (former Director of Civic Innovation in Long Beach, among other prestigious positions) and Lisa Mae Brunson, founder of the Wonder Women Tech Foundation.

My sincere thanks to both teams and the Marketing group for these consistently high-quality events polishing the Sunstone image. It makes a big difference.

Getting Engaged

It’s hard to believe that 2025 is more than half over, but July started the third quarter of the year. This quarter’s focus is on engaging our customers, partners and friends – something that takes place during Sunstone Stage Connects and P3 Strategy programs, but also hopefully every day.

We want to know about our partners, and to let our partners know about us. We do that formally through efforts like the great annual reports distributed in July (kudos to Jennifer Huang for spearheading that effort), and less formally with the Sunstone Way blog, our presence at other events and more.

In all those interactions, our core values shine through. Investment, Entrepreneurship and Community are the golden threads connecting everything we do.

Investing our time, energy and financial resources enriches lives and transforms communities.

Promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity can shape the world as it should be.

And connecting people with each other, creating public-private partnerships and building community is the most powerful force on earth.

Our Sunstone community continues to get stronger and make a difference. I am proud to be a part of this great endeavor.

Happy Summer!
