Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Here at Sunstone, our resolution is to build on our first 10 years in business with even more energy and expertise.
Our January really busted out of the gate doing just that. We were able to announce the formal reorganization of Sunstone Management Inc.
Our holding company is now Sunstone Investment Group, Inc., with Sunstone Investment Management Services, Inc., providing business support services to our affiliates. Those affiliates include Sunstone Advisors LLC and the related Sunstone Venture Partners LLC. On the other side of the organization chart is Sunstone Cities LLC, our government consulting arm.
We also now have a more formal arrangement with sister company American Lending Center, and a partnership (pardon the pun) with Public Private Partners LLC. Finally, our nonprofit donor-advised fund the Sunstone Community Fund, is going strong.
As the Year of the Snake neared its end, this reorganization allows Sunstone to shed its old skin and emerge as a company ready to grow.
High-Powered Friends
We are building on the things that have worked for us in the past, including the P3 Strategy Series begun last year. In a sign of that growth, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, CPA, was our first speaker for 2026. This powerful public servant provided insights into state finances and ways business owners and entrepreneurs can benefit.
I was particularly interested in her observations about leadership and community. It was gratifying to see how her philosophy dovetailed with ours.
New Initiatives
Since Sunstone’s founding more than a decade ago, support for entrepreneurs and innovative founders has been a key to building our community. It was with that key in mind that we launched the Sunstone Venture & Innovation Center. This new hub of activities and support is spearheading the Sunstone Stage Connects series of startup showcases as well as providing a Sunstone presence at many events in the venture capital ecosystem.
A founder-first innovation platform backed by investors and operators, this is a space where early-stage teams can build, access real capital, engage in conversations and grow. I’m looking forward to seeing how this initiative helps others succeed.
On Feb. 17 this year we will enter the Year of the Horse – the Year of the Fire Horse, to be specific. We are ready and willing to confidently step into the year knowing we have the power of our team and the guidance of our core values to better the communities we serve.
Come on the ride with us!
