EARLY-STAGE EQUITY INVESTMENT

Sunstone Management invests in diverse, early-stage, technology companies that demonstrate a track record of passion, creativity, and persistence. Typically, Sunstone Management requires all startup Founders to be admitted to one of its partner Accelerator Programs (such as the Long Beach Accelerator or Lair East Labs), to be considered for investment.  Once admitted to a qualified accelerator, Sunstone Management will meet with startup Founders to negotiate a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE), which typically provides up to $200,000 of investment in exchange for future equity.  If startups are able to complete the qualified accelerator program and meet certain milestones, they may be eligible for additional rounds of follow-on funding up to and including Seed Round investment. For more information, please contact the Sunstone Management Investment Department here.

SMALL BUSINESS LOANS

Through its partnership with the American Lending Center, Sunstone Management is able to offer its startup Founders several innovative small business loan programs that can help with early-stage development and growth.  These include the California State Small Business Credit Initiative and Federal Small Business Administration 7(a) Loan programs.  For more information about these loan programs, please contact the Sunstone Management Economic Development Department here.

CITY ACCELERATOR PROGRAMS

Sunstone Management has developed a unique technical assistance program to help diverse, early-stage startup Founders secure the technical assistance, mentoring, and network support they need to be successful. Often, upon acceptance to these approved programs, Sunstone Management will negotiate an agreement for equity investment to assist startup Founders cover the cost of the Accelerator as well as to provide working capital to expand their business.
